Times That We Pretend

Rain…dripping, into pools of radiant black,
Whispers echo the voices of nature, avast
Shadows, just now turning to grey,
Listless, if nothing more to say

I went walking, amongst the tuilips
Perhaps, for the last time, but time is like a hiccup
I felt free, like the time once before
What were the things you implore…

Tell me of a time, or place, of a vast nature
Tell me in detail, as if explaining a flavor
Return to me a memory once forgotten
Let’s pretend, we are once more in kindergarten

In the end, it is life at its best points
Tales that tell us…when life conjoined,
But, what is it you wish to take away?
Or, is that all there is to say
