Memories of Dad

Are you resting now, in that kingdom on high
Seeing how we think of you as days go by
We miss the sarcastic things that you say
And how you would bring a smile to our face

Our lives where anything but perfect
But when I look back, it was worth it
Lost in the memories of days gone by
A flood of emotions and a Subtle sigh

Sometimes I think of you, I’ll sit in your truck
Memories come to and seem to get stuck
Listless days we take a drive on a backroad
Just like my childhood I try to shadow

Father’s Day comes and anniversaries go
Memories flood and then seem to show
You may be gone, but we won’t forget
Or fail to remember you as the sun begins to set

We love you pops!!!
